SafeGreen™和SafeRed™是Applied BioProbes 推出的安全靈敏，操作簡(jiǎn)單的次世代核酸電泳染料，電泳前只需將染料與DNA混合，上樣，即可獲得條帶清晰的染膠效果，整個(gè)過程無需前染和后染。

SafeGreen™ 和 SafeRed™ Loading Dye 含 6 × DNA 上樣緩沖液中及兩類常用的示蹤染料 （Xylene Cyanol FF 和 Bromophenol Blue），用以監(jiān)測(cè)電泳期間瓊脂糖凝膠條帶（呈現(xiàn)紫色和藍(lán)色兩個(gè)條帶）遷移情況。DNA條帶可通過 LED 或紫外光直接觀察，無需前染和后染步驟。

SafeGreen™ 和 SafeRed™ 無法穿透細(xì)胞膜進(jìn)入活細(xì)胞，從而降低了細(xì)胞毒性(Figure 5)。

Figure 5. Cell permeability tests with SYBR Safe™, SafeGreen™, and SafeRed™. Hela cells were incubated at 37℃ with 1X SYBR Safe™, SafeGreen™, and SafeRed™ for 30 min. SafeGreen™ and SafeRed™ could not penetrate cell membranes to bind DNA in living cells, and were much safer than SYBR Safe™, which rapidly entered cells and stained nuclei.
