Cy3 NHS ester is a reactive dye for the labeling of amino-groups in peptides, proteins, and oligonucleotides.
Cy3 NHS ester can replace NHS esters of Alexa Fluor 546, and DyLight 549.
 
This dye requires use of organic co-solvent （such as DMF, or DMSO） for the labeling. Water-soluble Cy3 is also available.
Appearance: dark red powder
Solubility: Good in organic solvents （DCM, chloroform, DMF, DMSO, MeCN, alcohols）, poor in water
Molar weight: 590.15
Mass spec M+ increase: 439.6
Cy3 excitation maximum, λmaxex, nm: 555
Cy3 extinction at λmaxex 150,000
Cy3 emission maximum, λmaxfluor, nm: 570
Cy3 fluorescence quantum yield: 0.31 （as conjugate with BSA）
