Software

For our digitally programmable power supplies (energy..., energy ... installation) we offer a

software package. The software comes on a data carrier and is part of each shipment. The package

includes DemoApp, a LabVIEW application to control power supplies from a PC and a library or

LabVIEW VIs you can integrate in your own applications.

Special characters

We use the special characters / and * on the identification label to indicate the input voltage

of a power supply. If a power supply supports more then one input voltage or input voltage range,

we separate them with a /. The default value set ex works is prefixed with a *.

Eg 115/*230 Vac marks a power supply with two nominal input voltages (115 Vac and 230 Vac) and

was delivered set for 230 Vac.

Steckcompact

Steckcompact is a Kniel-specific mechanical housing variant for the 19”-system. The PCB and

another part of the unit are inserted into the guide rails and hold the unit in place.

Steckkarte is a Kniel-specific mechanical housing variant for the 19”-system. Only the PCB is

inserted into the guide rails and holds the unit in place.

Sub racks

A term from the world of 19"-systems. If there is no need for a full size 19”-rack, a sub rack

can be used to combine several 19”-units into a single housing. Sub rack are available in 3U and

6U and can be utilizes for table top operation. On request we design and manufacture sub racks

equipped with our own power supplies and peripherals.

Type (german: Artikelbezeichnung)

A combination of letters and numbers. The type alone is not sufficient to single out exactly one

unit. Units with smae electrical, but different mechanical attributes (line adifferent front

panel) may share the same type.

When ordering, please always use both type (Artikelbezeichnung or short Artikel) and article

number (Artikelnummer).

U

U is one of the main dimension units of the 19”-system and is used to indicate the width of the

unit. One U equals to one fifth of an inch or 5.08mm.

supply. Both documents should be available for the qualified personell that sets the power supply

up.

For a wide range of our power supplies we offer wall brackets as mechanical adaptors to retrofit

them for wall mounting.
