Medical experiment simulation software
Thomas RECORDING is the distributor of the “Virtual Physiology Lab” software tool for physiological and pharmacological experiments in virtual laboratories - almost like in the real world.
The simulation software is a platform independent tool developed by a group of experts from the University of Marburg (Germany).
All stimulation and recording devices are freely adjustable. Mathematical algorithms guarantee for the appropriate reactions of the preparations, including their physiological diversity.
The Virtual Physiology series features classic physiological and pharmacological experiments with isolated preparations of the frog nerve and muscle (SimNerv©, SimMuscle©) and the rat heart and vessels (SimHeart©, SimVessel©), supplemented by technically more challenging experiments like voltage- and patch-clamp recordings (SimNeuron©, SimPatch©), that are unfeasible to be physically carried out in students’ introductory courses but can be realized in silico with a user-friendly interface.

SimHeart© allows to make experiments with diverse transmitters and drugs applied to the isolated heart in the classical Langendorff set-up
SimPatch©
SimPatch© allows to make voltage clamp experiments from retinal cells in a highly realistic lab, allowing alterations of ion compositions and drug application
SimVessel©
SimVessel© allows the examination and comparison of drug effects on smooth muscles of vessels (aorta) and the intestine (antrum) in a virtual laboratory.
SimMuscle©
SimMuscle© allows recordings of skeletal muscle contractions under different stimulus conditions and pre-stretchings in a new, resolution independent laboratory.
SimNerve©
Sim Nerve© is a virtual laboratory for compound action potential recordings from the frog sciatic nerve under freely adjustable stimulus conditions. Download a demo version of the compley revised laboratory with several new features and have a look on suggested experiments, described in the tutorial and protocol forms, including registrations.
SimNeuron©
SimNeuron© simulates virtual current- and voltage-clamp labs for recordings of membrane potentials and ion currents, including diverse single channel applications.

We offer the different product licenses listed in the table below. You can combine the programs that you would like to use in your lab and choose the required license. For example you want to use SimNerve© and SimNeuron© you need a 2-program license.
