ASCO Announces 2015 Industrial Automation Engineering Scholarships Winners

The two recipients were each awarded a $5,000 scholarship to support their pursuit of a bachelor's degree in engineering. They are Emily Doyon of Biddeford, Maine, a junior in the chemical engineering degree program at the at the University of Maine; and Brad Harvey of Twinsburg, Ohio, a junior studying for a civil engineering degree at the University of Akron.

ASCO announced the scholarship winners at PMMI’s annual Amazing Packaging Race at PACK EXPO 2015 in Las Vegas. The two students were guests at the Expo, courtesy of ASCO . Sponsored by ASCO , the Amazing Packaging Race is a fun and educational event that pits teams of packaging students, from programs around the country, against each other in a race to gather points by completing tasks at specific PACK EXPO booths. ASCO ’ sponsorship of the race helps support the PMMI Education and Training Foundation, which also provides scholarships to packaging students from PMMI partner schools.

The ASCO Numatics Industrial Automation Engineering Scholarship program, now in its eighth year, has awarded a total of $80,000 in merit-based scholarships to 16 students, based on their potential for leadership and for making a significant contribution to the industrial automation engineering profession, particularly as it relates to the application of fluid control and fluid power technologies. The company has provided an additional $16,000 in grants to 14 schools of engineering.
