污染密度指數(shù)(SDI值)是表征反滲透系統(tǒng)進(jìn)水水質(zhì)的重要指標(biāo)。 
其測(cè)定方法的基本原理是測(cè)量在 30psi 給水壓力下用 0.45 μ m 微濾膜過(guò)濾(間隔十五分鐘)一定量的原水所需要的時(shí)間比值。
但手動(dòng)的SDI測(cè)試方法卻極花費(fèi)時(shí)間，而且工作過(guò)程非常單調(diào)、容易產(chǎn)生錯(cuò)誤。美國(guó)Simple SDI測(cè)試儀實(shí)現(xiàn)了自動(dòng)、便攜等特點(diǎn)，而且執(zhí)行SDI5，10，15分鐘100ml及500ml的6項(xiàng)數(shù)值測(cè)量。這是手動(dòng)SDI測(cè)量方法所不可能完成的
